Every year since kindergarten I have always been asked what I want to be when I grow up. All of my friends and classmates either had no idea or they wanted to be just like their parents. In kindergarten you say basic, but aspiring careers like president or a doctor, but probably have no idea how much energy it takes to get there. Then as the years go on into middle school, people become more independent and have more of an idea of what they really want to be. Then in high school you learn there are so many majors and professions that can link off your job. What kind of doctor do you want to be? Do you want to work with animals or children? There are so many factors in every job. But ever since kindergarten I knew exactly what I wanted to be and has not changed once. I have always aspired to be an elementary school teacher.

A profession should be something that you enjoy. The two things that bring me the most happiness in life are children and dancing. I love being around children, no matter what is going on around me. My friends have always told me that I should be a dance teacher because those are two things I never want to let go of. While that may be fun, it would never pay the bills the way I need them to. I may have that as a side job but I cannot imagine myself not being in a classroom with a room full of students at some point in my life.

Being in the CAPS program has opened my eyes to new things that need to happen in a classroom, such as the importance of technology integration in the classroom. I did not know there were certain teaching styles, but after taking this quiz I found out there were. I never realized it, but after reading how the quiz described me, I was not surprised at all, thinking of my always-changing ways. I am a person who always wants change and believes that education can keep progressing. I can even relate my teaching style to my everyday lifestyle. I always am changing the way things looks and always doing something different because I become easily bored with how things remain the same.

I want to be the teacher that all my students remember. I have always been very shy but being around kids has helped me to open up and kids remind me that it is alright to make mistakes because everyone does. I hope to inspire my future students to dream big, and not let anything stand in their way.
